University School's No Cut Policy affords each Middle and Upper School student the opportunity to contribute. USM believes there are lifelong benefits to students who participate on our athletic teams. These include the development of self-confidence and discipline and a respect for the roles and strengths that each person can bring to a team.  Participation in games depends upon the level, i.e., Middle School, Junior Varsity or Varsity, the individual's skill level, and his/her attendance and effort at practices.

USM is a member of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, which includes public and private schools. USM is a founding member of the Midwest Classic Conference and competes within this conference for the majority of its sports. The Midwest Classic Conference does not, however, offer all of the sports in which USM competes; therefore, USM teams also participate in other conferences.
