USM Community Service
At USM, the value of contributing to society is introduced to students at an early age.  Participation in community service projects begins in prekindergarten and culminates with a 50-hour community service graduation requirement over the course of four years in the Upper School (for the Class of 2011. The Classes of 2012 and 2013 will be required to perform 60 hours).  USM also offers an active faculty, staff, and parent service group.  The community service experiences available at USM foster learning, personal growth and connections, and leadership.

Community service give students a rewarding sense of worth and inspires their investment in making a difference.  A variety of projects allow students to learn to appreciate diversity while gaining self-confidence and connecting the experiences to their own lives.
