USM Reunion Weekend

Reunion Weekend 2020 Postponed

Dear Reunion Class Alumni,

During this challenging and uncertain time, I wanted to take a moment and reach out to our alumni community. Please be assured that your Alumni Association is still here; we are partnering with school administrators, and the Advancement and Alumni offices to continue to offer support to our alumni community during this challenging time.
Many of you have reached out in recent weeks inquiring about Reunion Weekend 2020. Alumni from all over the world come back to share in the reunion tradition, and our hope was that this year would be no different. I wish to share with you that the Alumni Association board, along with school leadership, has made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s Reunion Weekend until 2021 to include classes ending with 0s, 1s, 5s, and 6s. We know that this is the best course to ensure the health and well-being of our entire USM family, and we look forward to a grand celebration and reuniting with you all. Please mark your calendars for June 18 and 19, 2021. To ensure we are reaching everyone in the 2020 reunion classes, we are also mailing and emailing this letter to all reunion class alumni.
The Alumni Association board and Advancement office have received requests from alumni asking how they can help during this difficult time. For those of you who are interested in helping, one thing you can do right away isvolunteer to share career advice or job opportunities/summer internships through USM Connect. The COVID-19 pandemic is making it difficult for young alumni to identify and interview for summer opportunities. If you are not currently in the USM Connect network, please visit to become part of our online community. This makes it possible for alumni to contact you for career advice, and you can also post jobs or internships that might be available in your businesses and organizations. During this time of social distancing, I have also found USM Connect to be a good way to reconnect with old friends.
Here are additional helpful resources:
  • Event Updates - Please check Facebook and our alumni page for updates on both school and alumni events.
  • COVID-19 Community - Within USM Connect, we have created a public group to share school updates and community stories. We will also post resources shared by industry professionals (healthcare and government), and ways to help keep you and your families healthy during the pandemic. We welcome you to share stories about your own experiences or those of other USM community members who may be contributing to relief efforts or seeking support during this difficult time.
Lastly, we want to hear from you. You are a valued member of the USM family and we want to know how you are doing and how you might be helping others. Email and share your stories, photos, and videos; we’ll share some with the USM community via Facebook and our upcoming alumni newsletter. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding the school or Alumni Association topics, please contact
Stay safe and stay in touch,
