Animal Classification with the Milwaukee Zoo

University School of Milwaukee kindergarten students had a special guest on Monday, Nov. 4 when Erica Berndt, school instructor with the Zoological Society of Milwaukee, visited campus. She gave a presentation called “Critter Covers” and taught students how to identify whether an animal is a mammal, bird, reptile, fish, or amphibian. Students learned about animal classification, touched real fur, feathers, and scales, and even met a mystery critter.
