Neil Dogra ’21 Participates in Community Outreach Events

USM senior Neil Dogra ’21 recently participated in two high-profile community outreach events. As the student outreach coordinator for the Greater Milwaukee Youth Summit on Opioid Awareness, Dogra participated as a panelist in a virtual town hall discussion on opioid awareness, hosted by WISN channel 12, called “State of Addiction: What Every Family Needs to Know.” The event featured a variety of local panel experts, including Josh Kaul, Wisconsin attorney general; Dr. Ryan Feldman, toxicologist, Wisconsin Poison Center; and emergency medicine pharmacist at The Medical College of Wisconsin; and others. Dogra participated as the founder of Opioid Epidemic Awareness Campaign.

In addition, Dogra was selected as a speaker for the TEDxUWM 2021 spring conference series titled “Our City. Our Story.” He was the only high school student to be selected, and his presentation was titled “A Selfish Kid’s Guide to Loving Community Service.”

In December 2020, Dogra was named a 2020 TMJ4 Positively Milwaukee Inspiring Youth award winner. He has worked extensively in the Milwaukee community highlighting both the opioid crisis as well as the city’s refugee community.
