School Calendar

University School of Milwaukee publishes certain calendar information to the public website. Additional calendar items for students, parents, alumni and parents of alumni, and other constituency groups can be viewed on myUSM.

Calendar items display the event or activity name, start and end times (if applicable), and the location. Clicking on the event or activity name will take you to a detail page, which shows any additional details that have been published, along with a contact name with a link to email that person.

    "Science Fair" Film Screening

    Mandatory Junior Case Study

    This evening's program will begin in the theater promptly at 6:00 PM and conclude no later than 9:00PM. Admissions officers from around the country will lead students and parents through a mock admissions committee exercise, reading through different applications so students and parents can see how each part of an application gets evaluated and how institutional priorities play a role.

    US Parent College Reading Group

    All Upper School Parents are invited to join us for our second College Guidance Roundtable Reading Group on Wednesday, November 14th from 4:00 – 5:00 PM in the Alumni Room in the Middle School (not far from the School Store and Arts Wing). This informal discussion group held periodically throughout the year is open to parents in all Upper School grades; attendance at any is purely voluntary. Each session opens with a discussion based on articles pertaining to the college process.

    We’ll be looking at how college aspirations, purposes, and outcomes have changed from when parents went to college and now by starting with a discussion of the following two articles:

    Speaker Series: Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age

    A special screening of the Screenagers film will take place at USM on Monday, Nov. 19 (RSVP requested)

    Delaney Ruston is a filmmaker, Stanford trained physician and international speaker who makes documentaries to foster social change. She is the creator of the award-winning film, Screenagers, about raising successful youth in the digital age. Over 2 million people have come out to public screenings in over 50 countries thus far.
    As a known expert on this topic, Delaney is invited to speak at Google, The Aspen Institute, conferences, schools, and others, and her views are often in the press, such as Good Morning America, NPR, New York Times and many others. Examples of other films include Unlisted: A Story of Schizophrenia, about her father and Hidden Pictures about global mental health.  
    Ruston has partnered with groups such as the World Health Organization in creating advocacy campaigns and has won several awards for her efforts. A Fulbright Scholar and former researcher in Bioethics and Communication, Dr. Ruston has been faculty at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle and at Stony Brook School of Medicine in New York. Along with filmmaking Delaney currently provides medical care to the underserved and homeless, which she has done for over a decade.
