Assistant Head of Upper School
University School of Milwaukee is seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the position of Assistant Head of Upper School effective the 2019-20 school year. The selected candidate will lead and foster a positive, safe learning environment that is conducive to best meeting the needs of the Upper School community and the USM community at large. Upper School Dean of Student Support
University School of Milwaukee (USM) is seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the role of Dean of Student Support. The selected candidate will hold dual functions as both a College Guidance Counselor and an administrator tasked with shepherding non-traditional students who may need extra attention in transition to and beyond USM. As a College Guidance Counselor, this dean will help USM enhance individualized support for our first generation and underrepresented students, from finding supplementary learning and scholarship opportunities to helping guide financial aid planning. As a counselor, the dean will work with students and families to navigate their unique circumstances and forge relationships with specialized programs on college campuses that serve the populations of which they are a part. In addition to supporting the College Guidance Office, this new hire will work with US administration and the Office of Enrollment Management to welcome non-traditional students and provide support to them in all facets of their lives at USM. More specifically, this dean will establish relationships and open channels of communication with non-traditional students and their families, and will develop and manage a suite of programs that will create a supportive framework for our students. Middle School French Teacher
University School of Milwaukee seeks a full-time French teacher for Middle School, grades 5 through 8, to begin the 2019-20 school year. The ideal applicant creates a dynamic and modern world-language experience for all students, possesses a high level of expertise in the French language and the francophone world, and has teaching experience at the middle school level. Furthermore, this teacher will work in a collaborative community where voice and perspective matter; at University School, we believe that a diverse community helps encourage an authentic understanding of all people and makes us stronger. Qualified candidates will promote high expectations, demonstrate quality instruction, and teach in an oral-proficiency classroom. Middle School 6th Grade Math Teacher, Long-term Substitute
USM is seeking a long-term 6th grade (Middle School) Mathematics substitute teacher, effective approximately April 25, 2019 to the end of the school year, June 7, 2019. The ideal applicant has a high-level of expertise in teaching mathematics combined with teaching experience at the middle school level. Experience with educational technology is also a preference. Qualified candidates will promote high expectations, demonstrate quality instruction, and use formative and summative assessments to meet students' individual needs. The position includes teaching the outlined 6th grade mathematics curriculum, designing coherent classroom activities, preparing students' grades, and co-planning curriculum with other mathematics teachers. The curriculum focuses on strengthening and building skills and concepts as students move toward abstract thinking. The applicant will be covering concepts related to percent, geometry concepts related to 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional figures, and probability and statistics. Part-time After School Staff
USM is seeking individuals to work in their After School program for the 2018-19 school year. After School hours are 2:45-6 p.m. daily. Flexible scheduling is available. Applicants should enjoy working with school age and preschool age children. Workers must be energetic and have good communication skills for work with parents, teachers, and students.
